Fret! is a fitting name for this band – it’s predominantly post-rock of sorts and everything’s a little nervy and jagged with a darker undertone running throughout the five tracks. The opening title track throws some vocals into the mix adding a nice layer of tension as it builds. ‘Boner M’ has a kind of confident, sinister swagger as it settles into its groove. Looks like they’ve been kicking around for a few years already which is good news as I’m keen to hear more. Definitely worth checking this band out if a bit of angular post-rock is your thing.
