Some pretty catchy pop punk here with a bit of a surfy twang and some great vocals, sometimes wailing away desperately, and generally doing a great job of evoking the mopey indie kid culture that these songs revolve around. So I guess they are pretty into Weezer and stuff like that. I appreciate that it’s bouncy and free-wheeling, self-deprecating and goofy. It’s energetic enough to keep me interested and the edges are frayed to a degree that stops it being too straightforward. There’s nothing earth shattering going on here, but it might be the kind of thing you’re looking for. I’m afraid it does have that genre cliche of an acoustic song that ends up rocking out, which may colour your opinion.
