The last few indie pop reviews I’ve written have mainly been about bands on the light, clean and melodic side but this new EP by The Fireworks is a lot more raw, loud and scratchy. They have a sound that is rough around the edges and noisy while “The Ghost Of You” shows their janglier and more melancholy side. I first heard this band when they had a track on a compilation called “Nobody’s Business” a couple of years ago and their track stood out at the time. I kept thinking I’d check out the rest of their stuff but am only getting around to it now. I heard their full length is pretty good too so I’m off to find out.
