Here is a four song EP by Origami Horses, who have had a few reviews on Collective over the last two years. ‘Slates’ starts us off, and the soft garagey guitars are a plus, as are the barely decipherable vocals. But the chorus which keeps cropping up telling me to “start, start start, again” is immensely annoying. It ends up making me dislike the song greatly. Far too focused on pop-like catchiness than just making good music. Let’s try again with ‘Obscured’. This works better and sort of wanders through without too much happening, but that’s a good thing. Much better. ‘Two State Solution’ is a similar affair in its style. ‘Charity Shop’ concludes proceedings and grows on me as it plays.
