An interestingly packaged CD, this record comes in a blank envelope. The insert is on a semi-transparent piece of card. The CD and CD holder both contain a picture of David Allred holding what looks like a toy hedgehog. It’s all a little odd! David’s music focuses largely on his vocals, which are excellent. I see similarities with Sam Amidon. But I am less praising of other aspects of the music. Track one is completely vocal based, so I appreciate the ambition, but the choir backing subtracts instead of adding. Overall I am just not interested in the string arrangements of the later songs. ‘Again And Again’ shows the most promise, with just a guitar. The other experimental features don’t work for me at all.
