Razz - Pleasantries - 7

Some rather swell power-pop from Oakland here that manages the neat feat of sounding chipper and chirpy while maintaining an undercurrent of desperate yearning. How do they do it? I don’t entirely know, but it seems to involve equal measures Buzzcocks and Nerves with a twist each of The Only Ones, Young Offenders and The Who. It all bops along at a fine old pace, the guitars spidering merrily this way and that while the singer weaves together a series of great, understated melodies in a manner so effortless that it could almost be annoying. Really splendid, really!
