Oh Brother have got a good balance on their second album. The male vocals remind me of Justin Paul Vallesteros from Craft Spells, though there is a greater range of pitch used. Female vocals come in now and again in soothing fashion and combine well. The instrumental backdrop is electropop, and this is kept interesting. ‘Arctic Style’ is a favourite of mine, with its simple electrobeat build up at the beginning, and then the male vocals form the basis of my enjoyment. They are fantastic. Later on we have two layers of his vocals and this is even better! What a track. The album is a tad long at 57 minutes and some of the same musical tricks are used over and over, but I’m not really complaining and the quality control is kept high throughout. Excellent.
