Amp - Switched On And Live - CDR (2016)

Labels: Sound in Silence
Review by: Captain Fidanza

Whereas the other recent release from Sound in Silence (Secret Hopes) sounded as though it was made as a soundtrack to a film about disused factory, this sounds as though the disused factory has been plugged back into the mains and all the rusty old machines are coming back to life. Winding, squeaking, grinding and squealing, this is not a problem likely to be solved with a can of WD-40.

But then, all of a sudden, the age-old mechanism starts to find some fluency and the squealing is replaced by the gentle sound of acoustic guitar. And so on and so on and so varied on.

This is a compilation of live recordings from 1995 to the middle years of this century’s first decade and jolly diverse it is too.
