Last I heard of Timekiller they weren’t exactly easy on the ear, but this latest release sounds even more shattered. GISM and Motörhead are both swirling round in the mix, along with the brain-skewering, reverbed-to-heck sounds of Mauser and their kin. While vintage metal licks played a prominent part in the band’s ‘Bleed Out’ 7″, this one seems like those influences are collapsing inward … the elements are there, but undergoing such a sense of turmoil that things are imbued with a really nasty, blasted sensibility. It’s ugly stuff and rather difficult to wade through, but worthy of your time provided the sentiment behind the cover art isn’t anything seedy or otherwise morally dubious.
