This is two-thirds of what was Manku Kapak and the apple hasn’t fallen too far from the tree in their sound here. The trading of vocals between Nico Begovic and Hauke Henkel is still prominent and it’s a powerful sound reminiscent at times of Manku Kapak’s “Gegen die Schwerkraft” LP. Fjlora also mix this in with more expansive, longer tracks and spacious interludes with some more experimental, quieter moments like on “dann blieben wir nicht allein”. This one reminds me of Hauke Henkel’s solo records. Lyrically, there is plenty going on and the titles of the songs are a statement in themselves when read through from start to finish. It’s a stunning set of songs too with those quieter moments bringing some respite from the fury of tracks like “wenn es doch so einfach waere”. Bonus points too for exceptional use of samples including one from “The Life Of Brian” on “Die dann noch weiter scheitern”.
