Labels: Boss Tuneage – The Cool Bananas
Review by: Oli Saunders
Boss Tuneage, I think I’ve heard of them. Looking at the cover, I predicted this would be a weird folk album, and yep it is. A simple strummed acoustic guitar gives the backdrop for a hybrid of Billy Corgan and The Butter Up Band. Oh shit I wasn’t ready for the synths popping up out of nowhere. This is a bit different but it ain’t good. Peter Black is better known for being in the Hard Ons; I’ve got a feeling these labels wouldn’t go near putting this out if he wasn’t. It even gets worse as it progresses; I’m in disbelief as I hear ‘Privileged Kids’. Avoid.
