Fucking Invincible continue to do what they’ve been doing and continue to impress. Their hardcore rages and blathers, staring at you without blinking while a dry crust of spit collects at the corners of its mouth. Vocals are shrieked, beats careen and everything has a nice sense of heft to it. Fans of Ritual Mess, Charles Bronson and Hellnation take note, if you haven’t already. Euro contingent Lifespite are also fast and ugly, but in a different way. They play a grinding kind of hardcore with painfully strained vocals and dense, tarry riffing that seems to be caught somewhere between Crossed Out and Looking For An Answer – almost as if Bloodlet sped up and pretended to be Terrorizer. To be honest I’m not 100% sure what they’re doing quite works, but at least they were interesting enough to have me ponder the question.
