Big Zero - Escape From Uncanny Hill - Tape (2016)

Labels: Tapeheads
Review by: Oli Saunders

Big Zero are a combination of pop punk and mainstream eighties pop, probably dominated by the latter. But don’t click the x quite yet, it is really rather fun. The distorted guitars combine well with a keyboard to create a catchy atmosphere. ‘Plug Me In’ has a very likable chorus and is solid on the whole. ‘Hardwired’ starts well but ends up being too standard. Finally, ‘Tear It Up And Start Again’ would fit well alongside the Transformers cartoon movie soundtrack, an alternative song to when Hot Rod and Kup escape the Sharkticons.
