Labels: 6 Way Split
Review by: Nerida
Born for Slaughter from Macedonia’s side of this split is guttural metallic crust, Reminiscent of a less polished Tragedy perhaps, it is atmospheric in places and almost melodic in others with crushing vocals. They get the prize I’m pretty sure of being the first band I’ve ever listened to from Macedonia, and I look forward to the imminent full length record from this lot.
Sweden’s Myteri I’ve actually seen live, in a remote cabin in Sweden no less, and they were one of my highlights that weekend. Crust with a melodic twinge that I have to say creates a pretty unique sound in places, that sets them apart from a lot of other Swedish crust bands. There’s elements that are reminiscent of bands such as Fall of Efrafa and Ekkaia, while still feeling like a thoroughly D-Beat band. Great stuff.
