Big, glossy, rock music that somehow manages to juggle chin-stroking loftiness with base-level bubblegum rock n’ roll. Shimmering shoegazing is beaten into submission by propulsive krautpunk drum patterns; vocals sound blissful yet determined and overall it’s like 80s Sonic Youth playing a set of Cheap Trick covers, or Circle dressing up as the Ramones for Halloween. Compiling three separate 12″ EPs, this collection serves as a really neat way of collecting the band’s work to date. Be warned, though … once you’ve had your hit you’ll be slavering for more, and with the band seeming to release one EP a year you might have a while to wait before your needs are sated.
