The Exotica demo tape went completely under my radar, so I’m cock a hoop I got a second chance with this vinyl release. Why? Because it really is bloody excellent: a ragged burst of genuinely exciting punk rock that flails with manic energy, primitive aggression and a strange sense of furious joy. Things I’m reminded of … perhaps more in terms of thrust, delivery and sentiment than overall sound … are Muerte, La Misma and that debut 7″ from Otan: lofty comparisons indeed, but ones that hopefully convey the esteem with which this young band should already be regarded.
