Harsh, hectic grind from what appears to be a duo. The overriding point of reference here is Discordance Axis (think: some kind of developmental midway point between ‘Jouhou’ and ‘The Inalienable Dreamless’), though the frantic ravings and spliced-open discords are tempered by the occasional Iron Lung-style slo-mo part, vocals that draw from black metal and crackles of negatory noise. Despite comprising just five brief tracks ‘The Hanged Man’ is a challenging and intense listen, and while they might not be up there yet with Full Of Hell or Unyielding Love this is definitely a step in the right direction.
