Adult Mom put out one of my favourite records of the past few years in “Momentary Lapse of Happily” and 2 years later they are serving up their next set of new songs as another LP. It’s a record that is in turns fragile, vulnerable, beautiful and resilient. “Full Screen” aside, it feels ever so slightly less poppy than their last LP and a couple of tracks veer further into indie rock territory like on the likes of “Steal The Lake From The Water”. They also match the fragility and sparseness of early Waxahatchee on “Same” which is absolutely beautiful whilst lyrically things are as raw and personal as ever. Certainly in my top handful of LPs so far this year.
