To start with, I love the album cover. Simple but effective. This mimics the music too – Davey and his backing band plays straightforward indie rock. It’s catchy in places, particularly on ‘Nicotine & Neon’. Elsewhere, it is slow and sombre, such as on ‘No One’. Though I’m not convinced about the audio samples, and the album feels a little disjointed, the vocals are distinctive and full of emotion.
