This is very very good. It sounds like Ostraca have been listening to Tentacles and then decided to tweak that sound slightly and make it their own. For the most part this is relentless, but they throw in all sorts of individual aspects, such as a guy doing forced singing vocals on track one for a bit and then the band slow down for a while before unleashing hell once more. It feels natural though I’m pleased to say; it’s not like they are thinking “oh, we better do a slow part now” to change things a bit. On track two everyone sees how fast they can play – pretty damn fast as it turns out. Each track has it’s own signature – ‘Childlike’ a cool build up part halfway through, ‘Nausea’ a ten minute track that acts as temporary respite with its melodic first half and then gentle build up. They step things up in the last couple of minutes to remind you they are a screamo band. Maybe its more emoviolence now I think about it; in any case it’s a cracker.
