Cloakroom continue to play their style of slowcore, with strong instrumentation. Bis Aufs Messr describe it as partially being doomy stoner rock and I think this hits the nail on the head. It has a different air about it than Bluetile Lounge, though there are still strong parallels, the vocals in particular. In softer moments I’m also reminded a little of Tom from Mars To Stay, though there’s no reverb. The chugging riffs and distortion add an interesting feel, though my favourite moments are when they stick to the slowcore script. Big World, for example, has a guitar heavy part that just feels unnecessary, before it is stripped away to leave a wonderful and sombre ending.
