Labels: Our Future
Review by: Oli Saunders
There is obviously a strong nod to Crass with the album title, the artwork, and the messages being given. Monadh talk about how smaller human actions can wreak havoc with people’s lives. I respect this, as too often bands go for the bigger issues like world war and it becomes generic. Meanwhile, the band sound nothing like Crass, playing a sort of slow and pummeling metallic punk. The first track is a build up into the second, which I find fairly standard; they throw in a guitar solo here and there but there’s not much else to it. Track three is a minute and a half of rain, thunder and lightning before the fourth and final song actually shows some promise. I’m nodding my head to the slow riffs and it keeps me interested. This is alright for a demo as it shows what the band are about; next time I hope to see more.
