Second full-length from this Texan two-piece, who this time perform one long, large song. Things are stately and elegant throughout, with bold, portentous riffs doled out like heavy gold coins tumbling from the hand of a disdainful monarch. The overriding vibe I have is of a doomed-up version of the first Pelican EP, and while said band’s currency seems to be at an all-time low the results are certainly serviceable enough if you fancy a grandiose mix of chug, crunch and silvery melody.
