Like so many things in life, this one sounded thrilling as an idea and proved to be less so as an actuality. First side starts with an icy drone before slopping into some gluey, obnoxious, synth-assisted punk with a decent chorus that seems to take its time coming around. Second side is quicker to get started, but to be honest the brief ‘Patterns’ is rather workaday while ‘Walls’ is a half-formed, dreck-flecked thing with some great ideas that’re ultimately wazzed up the wall in a fit of silly, snotty pique.
