This has been one of my top things’re-crap-and-I-need-a-shot-in-the-arm records for the past few months. On paper there’s nothing much to it (think: early Riistetyt by way of Sweden and Japan), but when the record’s spinning I feel possessed by the power of ten tigers and capable cracking the universe in half with a single knife-hand chop. The rage seems pure, the music’s ragged but absolutely on-point and there’s that strange, numinous feeling of absolute rightness running through it that seems to turn your blood into battery acid. Is there anything else you could reasonably ask for from such a thing?
