Have to put my hand up and admit to being a dummy: I didn’t keep up with Parasite after that first 7″. You know how it is: too much stuff, not enough money, etc. etc. etc. Anyway, here we have their first full-length, which is, of course, a whole lot of rampaging metal-punk fun. The songs are tightly constructed and barrel energetically along, all choppy riffing, rasped vocals and wiggly, free-spirited solos. While Motörhead and GISM remain obvious points of reference you can also detect hints of Judas Priest, Scorpions, and the late, great Boulder in there as well … fine comparisons for any band to warrant, and with this eight-tracker as a point of reference you can just imagine how off-the-hook they must be live…
