Lake Pleasant have hints of Beach Fossils in the vocals and Mars To Stay in the pacing and tone. Those are not bad references to start with, nor is the instrumental intro or second track ‘the old crt television at my grans house’. A very impressive start and also end, with ‘deep sea diver’ and ‘daybreak’ hooking me in; it’s just a shame asbout the songs in the middle as they are not up to the same standard and bring down the album as a whole.
