Gentle Brontosaurus - Bees of the Invisible - CD (2018)

Labels: self released
Review by: MH

Back on indie pop here – this time, Gentle Brontosaurus from Wisconsin, who play clean, catchy and twee-ish stuff with keyboards and ukulele thrown into the mix. This is their second LP – not heard any of their other stuff but I will likely go back and check out their other releases as I like it. It’s laced with that old familiar melancholy and the songs are sunshine-kissed and kind of jovial at times, and led by girl/boy vocal duties. There’s a quirkiness to the lyrics and there’s also a song on here called “The 8th Degree of Kevin Bacon” which is reason enough to give it a go. Listen to this if you’re missing the likes of Allo Darlin as it’s of that brand of indie pop. Also, if you are Winnie the Pooh or just like food you’re in luck as they’re doing toast and honey with orders of the CD or tape.
