Four tracks of sticky-sounding death metal that adds melodic thrash influences to the guttural ooze n’ creep. The mix of clotted gargles, gristly low-end and trebly scrabble works a treat, creating something that’s brutal, portentuous and yet possessed of an underlying catchiness – almost as though Abhorrence, Sodom and mid-period Carcass had gotten into some sort of late-night, post-metal club, pre-kebab shop argy bargy. It definitely lacks the element of surprise in terms of style, but when all’s said and done the sound is spot-on, the songs are great and the whole thing is immensely satisfying. Nice work, people.
