Jetstream Pony are a newish band made up of members with a hefty indie pop CV going back decades – The Wedding Present, Aberdeen, The Popguns, Luxembourg Signal, Trembling Blue Stars and Fireworks to name but a few and it shows. The lead track is an upbeat and catchy tune – an excellent introduction to the band – the guitar line running through it is pretty clean and there’s a bit of drive about them too. I’d probably stop short of saying it’s a hefty rhythm section as we’re talking indie pop here but it’s pretty charged across the five tracks. “A Tribute to Wanda and Zena” takes things a step further and delves into post punk. The real highlight here for me is the title track which is something of a gem.
