A-side here looms and builds nicely, before descending into awkward noise-rock throes. It’s weird, because all the lumps are decent in isolation, but pieced together don’t seem to add up to much. The flip is a demo cut, which makes me feel like it’s the 90s again and I’m buying a Metallica CD single. I mean, why? It’s more of the same but with the parts in a different order, and it all labours beneath an annoyingly muffled recording. The premise … a woozy, spaced-out KARP … is good enough to mean Woorms’ll be worth checking in on later, but the material here suggests they need to put some serious legwork in if they’re to figure out how their good ideas could best be glued together.
