Adults - The Weekend Was Always Almost Over - Tape (2018)

Labels: self released
Review by: Andy Malcolm

This is right on the money. Fuzzy, melodic indie pop / rock, gets in fast and gets out again. Someone in the band wrote a nice letter that came in with this tape about how they stumbled across Rocketship via a Joanna Gruesome review I wrote and really it humbles me a bit that in a time where it’s so easy to hear every band ever, that someone can read a review on here and find a band they didn’t know about. That’s kind of how it worked 20+ years ago, but I’m sure that even now people are getting their tips more via recommendations than algorithms but ya know, how often do you get a letter saying that you turned someone on to Rocketship <3 <3 <3 This album is absolutely righteous. I’m all over it. Great work Adults, if you ever enjoyed lively, heartfelt indie rock then this one is going to do it for ya.
