Heavy, crusty käng that careens about all over the place yet still manages to sound dangerously coherent. Things are muscular and ragged at the edges while possessing an undercurrent of bloodshot melody, and the strained, red-raw vocals sound suitably desperate. Rather than bombs tumbling from the bellies of warplanes, tearful orphans or corpses strung from lampposts Förgiftad seem instead intent on flying the flag for 8-bit video games, what with their goofball cover art and the ‘quest’ alluded to elsewhere on the sleeve. Whether this is carried through in the lyrics I couldn’t tell you since I can’t read a lick of Swedish, but they do finish on a thoroughly enjoyable slice of chiptune silliness that, like their D-beat, is frantic and intense while carrying a charging sense of tunefulness. Absolut-ely recommended!
