Labels: Transcending Obscurity
Review by: Alex Deller
Largely pro forma metallic crust that, to its credit, seems to base itself on a 90s Doom aesthetic and only decides to add some wiggly post-HHiG melodies into the mix after the fact. The seven tracks barrel energetically along, with taut, lean songwriting and suitably apocalyptic vibes. If it’s all rather un-revelatory then the feral gusto helps carry things, as does the surprisingly tasteful guitarwork scratching at the edges of tracks like ‘El Gigante’, ‘Gargola’ and the standout ‘Radiation Huntress’.
