You Will Flood the River - Distance Between Maps - CD (2018)

Labels: Metal Postcard
Review by: Andy Malcolm

Think this one was in the review box for a while (July 2018, oops) but I have rescued it from the depths as it didn’t deserve to be ignored for almost two years. This 4 tracker is late night, twinkly lo-fi indie. The dual vocals are far from up front but work great over the pretty guitar work. It’d be very unfair to drop in mentions of Low and Ida as those are 2 of the greatest bands ever, but I am just trying to give you a little indication as to what is going on here. Downbeat, soft and sombre indie which is definitely a ballpark I am happy to play short stop in. Just noticed that this is ex-Origami Horses who sent about 481 things in for review over the years. Wonder if they bothered waiting around to see if this one would get done too.
