Labels: self released

Huge, galumphing crust that dabbles with sludge and death metal. While there are definitely elements you’ll have heard before (the familiar spectre of HHIG certainly raises its grubby head from time to time…) and the drummer occasionally sounds like he’s tripping over himself to get the job done as quickly as possible there’re also some satisfyingly different elements on display. Juddering thunks reminiscent of a crustier Xibalba level out the Bolt Thrower-esque blasts, while elsewhere trickier, choppier riffing (see: ‘No Escape’) cuts through the typically black n’ white crust aesthetic. As opening salvos go it’s a pretty decent effort, and seeing as it’s now a couple of years since this was released I’m hoping the band have been honing some new material rather than simply fading out of existence. We’ll see.
