One of those records that is, I guess, ‘historically important’ but isn’t much to actually listen to. Pink Dirt released this back in 1979, and were an early Norwegian entry into the punk rock rat race. Attitude-wise the sneering spectre of the Pistols looms large, but musically there’s a leering, unsteady New York Dolls-esque ranginess to things. It’s all ugly and unkempt, but fan as I am of sloppy, inept, can’t-play-but-trying-anyway punk I have to say there’s nothing particularly endearing here … it’s an archaeological curio at best, and one that comes flimsily-packaged for the premium price without even a polybag to protect it.
