You get the sense that this Italian trio have spent a long time looking at the world and really don’t like what they see, distilling this rage, disgust and contempt into 20 tracks of bone-mulching grindcore. After a brief (and fun!) synth intro things kick off as they mean to continue: fast, ferocious and with barely any let up. There are plenty of those wobbly, detuned riffs, an assortment of jagged discords and some enjoyably gristly slowdowns, all of which have been liberally sprayed with vomitous vocals. It’s a definite step forward from last year’s ‘Human Discount’ EP but could still with something ‘extra’ in terms of personality … no small ask of any grindcore act, so it’d be refreshing to see Stench Of Profit make the leap and land safely.
