Neurotic Fiction return posthumously here with a new EP following their debut album a couple of years ago. I somehow missed out on hearing that one – something I will rectify soon as I was into the early releases I reviewed on here. The tracks on this EP all just about reach the two minute mark so this won’t keep you long. It’s a rowdy opening with “Assimilate” which veers into Sauna Youth territory, before “Mi Mi Mi Mascota” which is more of a groover but they’re not holding back and the songs are as melodic as they are jerky and loud. “Happy Goth” with its surfy inflections might be the strongest track on here – a fitting way to say goodbye as this looks like this is their final output having called it a day last year.
