Labels: Never Understand Records
Review by: Samuel Rogers
This is the demo tape from a noisy Gothenburg group. Does the band name refer to a nasty accident or an erotic hairdressing salon? I can’t decide. The lyrics are short tirades against vapid culture, social conformity, racist immigration laws, and feelings of isolation. From Swedes playing loud political punk, tradition tells us to expect a D-beat sound. Well, expect the unexpected! This is more a noise rock affair. The vocals are sung-shouted over relatively clean and insistent lead guitar. The rhythm section has an elastic stop-start post-hardcore thing going on. The agent of chaos is the second guitarist, who drenches the whole record with fuzzy, distorted mess. In a good way. Definitely more a sexy haircut than a bedroom emergency.
