Zanjeer is an international endeavour, based in Bremen but with members hailing from Colombia, Pakistan, Germany and the UK. What unites them? The prospect of noisy, hellish hardcore that uses Discharge as its basis but sees the source material exploded outward by way of Sweden, Japan and Brazil. Ugly clumps of riff rain down like hurled halfbricks, while screeching feedback fissures the chaos. The furious political lyrics are delivered in Urdu, Punjabi, and Farsi, railing against the ills of a world that continues to fall apart at the seams while vile self interest reigns supreme.
