Two brilliant rippers from one of my favourite modern punk bands. ‘On The Edge’ is a pretty much perfect song: a mid-paced strut that’s positively overflowing with a sense of well-earned confidence. A lunging riff immediately grabs a fistful of your shirt colour before Jackson Reid Briggs starts cough-barking lyrics into your face, everything pulsating around him with a sort of menacing, swaggering, Saints-ly, Stooges-ish cool. ‘On The Loose’ halves the A-side’s runtime, charging forth in fully punked-up manner. It’s breathless and to the point but also catchy as heck: an abrasive little palate cleanser that serves to give you a good, forceful shake before it’s time to flip the record over for yet another spin.
