Didn’t expect to have “ex members of Dragbody and Mid Carson July” come up on my bingo card, but life is full of surprises. MOVINGDIGGINGTEETH play neither killer metallic hardcore nor Get Up Kids-y emo. Instead they present us with four blasting tracks that tightrope between the fast, careening hardcore of early/mid 2000s 625 Thrashcore and the clobberin’ power violence meted out by Lack Of Interest. Despite the brief run time (only one track cracks two minutes, and that’s largely due to an Office Space sample…) the band cram a bunch of stuff in, from gang vocals and slippery bass lines to moments recalling the sludgy, stoner-y hardcore of Cavity, Wound Man and Backslider. Closing track ‘Chain Of Hands’ is pick of the bunch for me, but truth be told I’m not complaining about any of it!
