Folks from G-3 Punx were in the frankly excruciating Dust Noise (seriously – if you ever need to clear a room, I’ll lend you the discography LP…), but this is infinitely easier on the ear. The band play sneering, slouching, nogoodnik punk that’s rooted in ‘77 style and attitude. Opening stomper  ‘Brainwash’ is one part pure snot and two parts thrusting, rubbery riff that sounds weirdly like ‘Pretty Vacant’ by way of ‘Dirty Deeds Done Cheap’, while over on the flip ‘Virtual Reality’ deploys a cheesewire rock ‘n’ roll lick and some seriously cool, gonzo vocals that convey a very real sense of whacked-out wildness. ‘Hungry Life’ closes things out in fine form: a shattered, wiry blurt comprised of tinny guitar stabs and neat, jittery bass parts. Beyond the sharpness of the songs there’s a real feral energy about the whole thing, and a crispy-at-the-edges quality that suggests the band haven’t entirely left their noise-punk past behind – unusual but addictive qualities that suggest a full LP from these guys could be a real treat.
