Jesus! This is pretty fucking brutal! I have heard so much from this band and have wanted to check them out for ages (mainly because I heard they were grim as fuck and they have a cool name).
Anaal Nathrakh play extreme black metal which harks back to bands such as Burzum, Darkthrone and early Immortal but have more of a mechanical feel which adds to the cold harshness. They have plenty of atmospherics going on in the background and some fucking dark vocals. Some of the riffs are mosh-led but most are (thankfully) played in an old thrash meets black metal style. Theres not much fucking around, just a lot of head-down brutal black fucking metal.
Get this cd, get absolutely fucked, puke on your own hands and try and mosh. Awesome.
