This is the last in the City Centre 7″ series. It’s pretty sad as these 7″s are always great, but at least they go out on a high. Arovane is one of my favourite electronic artists. “Tides” is such a fucking amazing record, as are all of the 12″s and the split LP is out of this world.
This single pretty much carries on from Arovane’s previous efforts, and although these tracks aren’t up there with tracks such as “Seaside” there’s still something special about them.
Arovane is mostly quiet atmospheric electronica with at times very slight techno influences and if I had to compare them to anyone I guess it would be Boards Of Canada. Don’t get me wrong I don’t really think Arovane sound a lot like boards its just I get the same feeling from Arovane, although Arovane are much less forced and the beats are much less in the mix.
This is a great single, splash out and treat yourself before it vanishes forever like that Evergreen 7″ you wanted did.
