To make way for this 4 track explosion in my CD player, I had to remove a Sunny Day Real Estate cd. If there is one band that the Army of Flying Robots do not sound like, it is Sunny Day Real Estate. Instead, the Army sound like a hellacious grindy emo violence band that could have squeezed it’s way onto one of those insane 7″ comps of Honeywell loving bands that Witching Hour had a habit of putting out. Mentalist vocals, tumultuous guitars that are both fucking heavy and fucking finger pointy, and blistering drumming all combine over a measly 7 minutes to make a serious mess up in your ears. Everything comes at you at breakneck pace, apart from the build ups on the 5 second long intro’s, and the occasional moshy part. Then someone presses the red button and all hell breaks loose. Totally.
If I left the word BRUTAL out of this review, I would have been skimping. This slays!
