Even if you could see the future, like the album title advises, I doubt anyone would be nimble enough to catch the twists and turns Foe spit out on their debut album. Foe is definitely in the instrumental camp, with the emphasis on the MENTAL. It’s loud, brutal, confusing, impenetrable, but not annoyingly so. You end up wanting to hit repeat as opposed to snapping the fucker in two. You want to know what the hell just happened. You want to study it and learn it like a tricky equation, to find out what makes it so damn addictive. They don’t resort to cheap-shot tease tactics with glimmers of melody either (or perhaps the WHOLE thing is melodic in a seriously fucked manner), or fling about the odd cool head-banging section. They do it by”¦ actually, I don’t know how they do it. They just do. And really, really, really well.
