Servo - Blueprint - 7

Cool, a 5 track single. Now there is value for money. And when you get some good tunes into the bargain then you’ve got to be happy.

“Always There” starts this off in a fantastic slow way, and begins to build. It initially reminds me of what little J Church stuff I’ve heard in a way. Sounds wonderful. Then it jumps on into a hyper-active, bouncy, pop punk gem – brimful of a tune that just seems to hook you and grab you in. The female vocals sound to me like Isobel from indie-yawners Drugstore, and are really rather cool. Certainly adds a bit of freshness.

And each track from there on has its own little feature that endears it too you. All of them are pretty fast paced, old sounding pop punk, but are deadly catchy and toe tapping. Dig the “lalalala” chants on “15 Minutes” and “Flatmate”. This is a band that really ought to be on a Snakebite City compilation, rather than toss like Seafood who somehow have ended up on volume #8. “Let Me Go” and “Next To You” just reinforce how enjoyable the noise this band can make truly is. Simplistic it may be, but undeniably fun, and the sort of thing you’ll jump up and down to.

Maybe it gets a little samey over 5 tracks, but its all pretty brief and catchy, so you don’t tend to notice. Funno.
