Beans - Now, Soon, Someday - LP (2004)

Labels: Warp
Review by: Chris Bress

Beans knows a lot about music and has worked with lots of different artists straight across the board either as a solo artist or from when he was part of the now defunct Anti Pop consortium.

Unfortunately his last solo record never did much for me (which was sadly a popular opinion). The new one is a lot better but still slighly off the mark. It kicks off with the great “structure tone” which has a proper dirty beat which sounds like its been nicked straight off something like Xenon 2 Mega Blast. There arent really many duff tracks on here and the remixes from both El-P and Prefuse 73 are pretty fucking good (although the EL-P remix has some pretty funny retro style rapping from Beans).

All in all this is a really good LP just not quite as good as I think he could be.
